This is a list of actions by the NC BOP in regards to the failure of one training secession that Pharmacists and Pharmacy interns were not properly trained to give vaccinations but were “signed off”.. According to these BOP actions… HUNDREDS of vaccinations were given by these CVS staff members, in a total of six stores in NC.
The BOP action was to SUSPEND these six stores ability to give vaccinations for TWO YEARS…
Was this particular day a aberration for this particular trainer…. or was this SOP for the trainer?… How many other CVS Pharmacists and Pharmacy interns be given an “abbreviated training” and signed off..
Since – according to the BOP paperwork – their investigation was prompted by an anonymous tip… I wonder if the BOP has extended their investigations to the training of other CVS staff… or… just going down the “don’t ask …don’t tell” path…

You know they are not going to do a full investigation. They don’t want to know that their state pharmacies are breaking the rules. North Carolina will be the laughing stock of the nation if they did a full investigation! CVS is probably keeping it all under wraps as usual when they break the rules. Is everyone breaking the rules or just CVS?
They will fully investigate pharmacists but not the chains. This is the way of the Boards, now more than ever. As Steve predicted, blogs and blogs ago, they love to go after now the “shortage” is over, and funds are at an all time low, hunting season is open. I bet the violations for immunizations are higher than others, would love to see a fine schedule. Really, the Board is really WAG anyway. That being said, a chain could get in trouble if it investigates its competitors. They may complain! Think about that… If you dont get this, look up NAPB, NACD, Walgreen executive, funding of the boards of pharmacy and wake up… these boards are chain operated and controlled, and one thing is about the Chains is THEY DESPISE ALL PHARMACISTS!!! Sad, the pharmacists here victims of CVS, yet, they pay when the evil violates. Its disgusting and unethical. Lets get some legislation going to get the boards cleaned up of chain executives and replace them with people like Redhead, Drug Monkey, Jim, Eric, Pharmacist Mike, Pharmacy Chick, and the Blonde RPH!!!
