    This gonna be a long 1,,In the very beginning of my pain management,,27,,years old,,now 50,,,I was forced to see a shrink or no medicine,,,which now a days is commen,,,but there was a twist to this..I would see this shrink before my appointment w/my pain management DOCTOR,, a md,w/12 years,,,,Well,,I got a tunnel catheter for my extreme chest pain,,ie,,unknown at the time,,why my left lower lung kept collapsing,,Soo,,I got knocked out w/every visit after seeing this shrink to get my catheter placed..My pain doctor would ask me questions UNDER anesthesia,,I do remember a lot of it,,,but he would specifically ask,,,is my time w/this shrink helping,,my reply was NO,, we would argue in every appointment and we would!!!!He tried to force me to say I was depressed..nope,,nice try,,he aske me personal question,if I was ever raped or abused,,NOPE,,,WRONG AGAIN,,,,well after the 10 paid for by insurrence appt..were done,,,i never had to go back to this quack,,,,,which is why to this day,,i believe shrinks have no business in pain management,,,if u have a physical medical condition that causes physical pain,,and u get proper medicine that effectively relieves lessens that physical pain,,,shrinks have no placed in pain management!!!there in it for the money and because patients are FORCED to go w/the threat of no pain relief if they don’t go,,thats a fact!!After my case the shrink was no longer at that hospital,,nor was I ever forced again,,My doctor also takes absolutely no stock in shrinks’ for pain management,,none,,,,as do alot of doctors,m.d.’s,,which I think is part of this whole mess,,,Medical Doctors,,not wanting shrinks in pain management,,,shrinks got pissst,,,they wanted there piece of the money,,ie,,,,false ,”addiction epidemic,”..jmo,,,mary

And PBS et tu you are supposed to be factual. I have one more question, did you remember to say these drugs you talk about on here are the illicit fentanyl, and heroin is illegal period. How many people did you ask. Was it the addicts alone, that is biased as all get out. Long term medication has been used in psych meds, bp meds, diabetes meds, cholesterol, and so on. The all have side effects and our bodies get used to it all. she sounds good in talking, but lies can be heard even with manipulative talking. I should know this addiction is about manipulation. The difference between addicts and pain patients are this one thing…addicts will do anything to get drugs or anything they are addicted to, and pain is something i for one have to endure so you guys try to criminalize us for the diseases and disorders once again we cannot get rid of. Psychiatry is trying to find another disease to give meds for. think on it it is not okay to do drugs, but to fix it they give drugs that are just as bad. WOO HOO lady you want more mulah. Psychiatrists are scared now that the word is coming down that the psych drugs are not as effective as before. The ending clinched the greed.

      Let me say the sentences again for the one difference. I typed it wrong…The difference between addicts and pain patients are this one thing…Addicts will do anything, say anything, steal anything to feed the habit. Pain patients go to the doctors and get the scripts every month with pee tests as well and we are sure to go to the last day to refill our scripts. Pain patients also try the other modalities along with the pain medications as well, Like be able to get out of bed to be with family. Not too many people are switching to drugs, they just kill themselves first. How is this depression better than the addicts? it is induced by the abuse that is happening now not in childhood and we take it every biting comment and we sit and take the nasty treatments, abusive doctors, pharmacies embarrassing people who have legit issues with pain.

        That is not entirely correct.. the major difference is that in 1917 our judicial/court system – a bunch of attorneys – decided that a person suffering from addictive personality disorder and self-medicating their health issues with opiates … was NOT A DISEASE.. but.. A CRIME and made it illegal for a prescriber to treat/maintain them. So those mental health pts So these people dealing with demons in their heads and/or monkeys on their backs have few legal treatment alternatives. Having the legal profession in charge of dealing with people with additive personality disorders has been the main reason why we have the largest per-cent of our population in prisons for non-violent drug offenses… since 1970 we have spent 1.5 trillion in fighting the war on drugs and continue to spend 51 billion/yr on that failed war. I am seeing a change in the nomenclature .. no more addicts… no more junkies… just anyone taking/using opiates > 90 days are now classified as having a “opiate use disorder”… the bureaucracy is trying to put Naloxone in every pocket so that we can increase the number of substance abusers out there… the Naloxone program is nothing less than a “catch and release ” prgm.. It does nothing more than gives our judicial system more “business”

    She fails to mention the fact that chronic pain untreated will “KILL” you just as dead! It causes the same withdrawal and hopelessness from society as “addiction”. Not one mention of what to do about the “chronic pain” that the person is in and what to do about it! The focus is on addiction! Talk about returning to the same environment after being off of pain medication! PAIN!! Oh that’s right, it’s mental illness or addiction! She talks about, research! OK, Oh they don’t have a replacement way yet to treat pain, so suffer until we do! I think it is my “Choice” or “Free will” that will extend my life and it is not living with almost constant pain! I am not a statistic I am an Individual!!!
