Attention all CVS Rx dept staff

This is from a published “help wanted” ad for a pharmacy technician

CVS Caremark, through our unmatched breadth of service offerings, is transforming the delivery of health care services in the U.S. We are an innovative, fast-growing company guided by values that focus on teamwork, integrity and respect for our colleagues and customers. This comes from a company that pays millions and millions in fines/penalties every year for violating laws ??

What are we looking for in our colleagues? We seek fresh ideas, new perspectives, a diversity of experiences, and a dedication to service that will help us better meet the needs of the many people and businesses that rely on us each day.

Customer Service

  • Greet each customer in a courteous and professional manner
  • Assist all pharmacy and front store customers with their questions and concerns
  • Request additional help when needed to maximize customer satisfaction   Just point this out to your DM/PDM when pts bitch because of long waits and everything is going RED
  • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality according to HIPAA and company standards
  • Answer telephone with appropriate greeting

  1. From a former colleague …..hired the best prospect that has come her way in some time 20+ hours per week….a few weeks later hours were slashed and could only offer this tech 12 hours per week….what do you think this tech did????

  2. Better wear boots when you read this ad. If you think anyone respects you or values your opinion, you are sadly delusional. Be prepared to choose meeting the metrics over patient care. Request additional help all you want if it makes you feel better. Perhaps you can page one of the two people running the whole store. Or you can risk being “written up’ for taking advantage of the front store staff. Harass customers on a daily basis and beg them to refill their prescriptions. Use your education and diverse experience to make barely above minimum wage. Be available at a moment’s notice to adjust to an unpredictable and inconsistent work schedule. And don’t forget to answer the phone in less than 20 seconds with “Can I schedule a flu shot for you?”
