CDC Opioid Restrictions Reading List

CDC Opioid Restrictions Reading List
(as of June 22, 2017)

In March 2016, the CDC published a guideline for opioid prescribing, which is being codified into laws, even though it was intended only as a guideline for PCP doctors.

Pain itself is hard to live with but the latest restrictions on opioid doses are imposing serious suffering on pain patients.

The posts below are all about the consequences of the guideline so far.

  2. Excellent list. Tho I have to ration them out lest I get too traumatized to function…I’m still nauseous from reading about the woman strapped down for a C-section without any relief. What in the hell kind of society are we in? Wait…it’s nothing like a “kind” one; The Age of Sadism & Brutality is here.

  3. Thanks for spreading the word! There is so much wrong with the CDC guideline, from its inception to its use as a weapon against pain patients. I’ve thought about updating that list, but it’s too depressing.

I’m not affected yet because my doctor is a saint, but I fear that eventually, she will be forced by “the powers that be” to cut back her prescribing.

I just hope I live long enough to see this craziness end.

    • Zyp –I just came back to add “PS: great job, Steve, for posting links to Zyp’s blog; it’s excellent!” when I saw your comment. LOL!

I also have a doc that’s willing to treat pain…for the moment, until he’s prevented from doing so. Grim living under the axe, waiting for it to fall, ain’t it? So much for the ubiquitous recommendation to “limit stress”!
