When the media, politicians and content marketers targeted pain patients, and sick people to blame for the so called opioid epidemic, they ruined a lot of relationships by design. They deliberately conflated pain care with addiction. They successfully targeted sick people, and ruined lives. One way the propagandists undermined decency and compassion was to fund a few “researchers” who re-framed illness, despair and pain as a psychological disorder, or an addiction problem. This made it difficult if not impassible to maintain any relationship.
The liars and propagandists destroyed relationships, deliberately undermined the credibility of sick people and Gas Lighted us all.
