I spoke with this pt this AM and before going into the hospital one week ago – using those UNPREDICTABLE MME CONVERSION PRGMS this pt was on near 500 MME/day. before entering the hospital and was discharged with 40 MME/day. Before entering the hospital the pt indicated that she was around a “5” on the pain scale – on average & when in the hospital on some sort of IV opiate/PCA and claiming that her pain was at “the upper end of the sale”.
Remember she has a cancer in her spine that “showed up a couple of months ago” and she has been on opiates for chronic pain for some 30 yrs
The pt told me that she had left a “voice mail message” at the internist’s office she was a pt of for some 17 yrs, but the pain doc at the hospital may have interfered with that relationship… since both of them are employed by the same hospital system.
She promised to keep me “in the loop” with how things were evolving… As of yesterday, she had enough of her previous medication that she will run out over the weekend. I can’t imagine the pain and withdrawal issues with a patient dropping their opiate dose by 90% in a matter of days.
Torturing prisoners of war is illegal and we are in a 50 yr war on drugs/pts… but it is not a REAL WAR… it is only a SOCIAL WAR… so apparently torturing pain pts is perfectly legal and it keeps a couple of hundred thousand people employed “fighting this war”

I don’t understand why this lady isn’t under Hospice care? They will give her as much opiate and Benzo needed to keep the patient comfortable. It can be treated at home under Hospice even with stage 4. They’ll treat is not dying. So i don’t get why her family hast contacted them. They get stsrted really fast. I know this because I put my husband under hospice care for lung cancer 2006. They said I could have him at home or at their facility. I hope she gets in touch with them to get proper pain care because the drs today are absolutely horrible.

That doctor shouldn’t be scared at all, he’s just stupid and evil and Dont know the truth about opiates. These damned drs need to realize that people who have been on pain meds as long this woman that she needs Very, very High doses to work for additional Severe pain like terminal cancer. That poor woman should be in hospice. If things are still as they were in 2006 when my husband was dying of cancer in hospice program, they can give ANY amount of pain medicine it takes to relieve pain. But God only knows what they’ve done to hospice care these days. It may not be any better than the bullshit that reg pain management gives. Pain management is a joke now days. A Torture treatment for Most legacy patients. Lord God please get these guidelines and Laws Totally Reversed.
** Also Looks like this Prohibition is getting much worse, did y’all see there’s a new street opioid that’s 20x stronger now? Just like the alcohol Prohibition it continually gets stronger and more dangerous. Good going DEA, State Attorney Generals and Politicians. What a damn dangerous Mess you created.
The doctors and interns are truly being indoctrinated, not taught. I am so sorry you are suffering.
They are frozen with terror, …so much so they are working hard to put any hope of an an opiate unreachably far away, and they used this patient to do it, …among MANY others.
Who or what could cause them to fear so much? Arrest? Only the States District Attorney Generals can do that.
This should be clear to everyone that has seen their letters to State’s medical boards and to individual doctors.
AND WHY???
WHY to set up another ‘deci$ion’ in court AGAINST rich pharmaceutical manufacturers, nothing more.
Unfortunately, the DEA is arresting doctors for treating pain. I lost my PM Doctor in August 2019 when he was a victim of the DEA
It’s so much worse than state medical boards.
We ALL need a Class Action suit against the DEA for practicing medicine without a license!! That’s the only way I can see to stop this INHUMANE TREATMENT!!
So innocent and gentle, that’s nice.
A “cut”. A cut. The DEA gets a BIG cut from the AG/DOJ pharma ‘settlements’. DEA assests forfeiture grabs are mere appetizers compared to what chiefs in the DEA are getting for helping sustain the false narrative about medicinal opiates and getting these in the ‘news’ and so assuring more AG victories against pharma in ‘court’, as the uninformed public continues to think it is all about medical practice. Low hanging fruit.
I thought I was being clear. Going without opiates seems to be becoming easier for me than helping the recovery effort.
