“The moral test of a government is how it treats those who are at the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the aged; and those who are in the shadow of life, the sick and the needy, and the handicapped.” – Hubert Humphrey

There are only 2 employees in the store in the non 24 hr stores also. There is a panic button?
I’m old enough to remember as a kid, you got your med dispensed from the ER if you went in the middle of the night at least in my town. I don’t know about large cities, I’d have to ask my parents, they came from one. And then my mom went to the pharmacy the next day to get the rest of the prescription. Of course our family doctor was the one who came to the ER to see us. Hospitals used to dispense home meds, then they stopped doing it. If 24 hr pharmacies are going to continue, those of us who are licensed in states with CC laws should be allowed to carry on the job. Like you said, when seconds count, the police are minutes away. And the panic/alarm button isn’t ever accessible.
