Drugstore Sales Drop Along with Drug Trend: Implications for Retail Pharmacy
http://www.drugchannels.net/2013/03/drugstore-sales-drop-along-with-drug.html
Pharmacies have had the benefit of growing number of generics available and the growing per-cent of generic utilization..
By 2016 it is estimated that the tsunami of brand to generic conversion is going to come to an abrupt end and at some point generic utilization – as a per-cent of total Rxs.. is going to run into some sort of limit or generic utilization growth is going to wane..
At the time that drug store profits may level off or decline.. is in the same time frame as the anticipated max out of the number of pharmacy graduate will exceed demand.
Since over half the “doors” are those of for-profit publicly traded companies.. the stock market is not going to take kindly to little/no profit growth.. from these companies.
Can you hear their stock prices dropping?
