Heroin deaths on the rise in Tampa Bay

I am beginning to wonder who held all of these people down at one time and forced them to start taking opiates… until the point that they were uncontrollably “hooked” on these opiates..
Did anyone notice in the film, the this young woman said she did a bunch of drugs and wanted to die … isn’t that a SUICIDE WISH ? Was she doing drugs because of a mental health issue?.. was she trying to commit suicide because of withdrawal ?.. because she couldn’t no longer afford her drugs ?

I think that pain patients who are denied care are turning to the black market. I’m considering it for my husband who can no longer get the morphine that he took without any problems, no early refills or even changes in dose, for almost 4 years. In November he tested positive for THC ( which he had discussed with his doctor last year and was told that if he could give one clean test that would satisfy him because he agrees cannabis is helpful). The pain doctors partner saw him in November and did a test and told him no more morphine and sent him home. NO discussion of even tapering off and writing an Rx to cover any taper. Just no more. Hubby is now sentenced to life almost trapped in the house, sometimes can’t even manage to shower. He has some time of some relief from 5 ibuprofen and a 500 mg acetaminophen. But that only happens on the good days.
How is this right?
Its sad but these are the people that screwed things up for those of us who actually need narcotics to have quality of life. We don’t abuse our medications. We live our lives. And when we can’t get our medications because of the laws we don’t turn to Heroine.
We just crawl up in a ball and cry because the chronic pain is that bad. Morale of the story is the addicts will always be addicts. Since they closed the pill mills it didn’t stop those addicts from finding their next fix.
Stop punishing the people who need drugs to live their lives.
I can see a chronic pain patient turning to obtaining illegal drugs..A lot of chronic pain patients are under medicated or not being treated for their pain..If a doctor decides that he’s not writing a script for a patient, there’s nothing the patient can do–except suffer through the terrible withdrawal and then suffer in horrendous pain, due to not having pain medication..When you’re desperate and in immense pain, you’re not thinking clearly..I’ve noticed since the laws changed, there is an increase in the use of heroin and overdoses/deaths in my state. I don’t think it’s a coincidence.
