“The moral test of a government is how it treats those who are at the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the aged; and those who are in the shadow of life, the sick and the needy, and the handicapped.” – Hubert Humphrey

Even if one believed this was not pure state sponsored propaganda. Let us say they are right then why on earth is the DOJ, DEA, FDA going after every doctor who writes opioid prescriptions for those who require high dose opioids due to metabolic disorders. They have taken away licenses, forced retirement and even jailed for decades doctors who did nothing wrong other than to try to help suffering patients. So how many times did he say doctors are not the problem. Then go let the doctors out of jail, restore medical licenses and tell those doctors scared into retirement and those doctors refusing to prescribe opioids they no longer have anything to worry about.
Currently a DOJ case worker has no more than 3 months training at quantico, relies on a gen doctor to question the experience of a doctor with 40 years opioid treatment. This is absurd, but is working, leaving many patients to suffer or commit suicide.
So if the White House is saying doctors are not to blame, put your money were your mouth is, release all convicted doctors such as in doctorsofcourage.com and refund all lost monies for attorneys fees and lost income while out of work. You should not be talking out of both sides of your mouth. And the Trump Administration wonders why so few Americans trust them. Heck there number of more than 60,000 deaths per year is more than twice of the original CDC, which folks on the panel now claim to be more like 17,000 deaths and I saw one that brought it down to 1600 prescription related deaths. Even at 17,000 deaths, twice as many people die yearly from second hand smoke and from alcohol related deaths. Talk about “witch hunts”. This “witch hunt” needs to stop and doctors and pharmacists need to get back to helping suffering patients before suicide is the only answer!
I agree with Pharmacist Steve that all drugs need to be legalized and taxed. Our government is to ignorant to do this!!
ABSOLUTELY!! Secure border Government!!!!
STOP the Epidemic!! STOP TORTURING INNOCENT AMERICANS who are Legitimate pain patients.
I hope some snooping NSA Reads THIS!
We act as if the 3000 mile southern land border is all we have to worry about… we have collectively abt 12,000 miles of borders… all of Canadian border… all of the Atlantic and Pacific board and the entire Gulf of Mexico border. There is too much “demand” by our population and there is too much money to be made by the cartels. The only real solution is to legalize and decriminalize all drugs.. and take away all the “customers” of the cartels. make sure people who chose to abuse substance that they can get a consistent “strength” of their drug of choice… which will do a great deal to reduce the OD’s..
I agree on both previous comments…. secure borders for safety. However, Steve you are right, however in the US that is a loooong way off. I wish it were t so, but drugs bring money to the system,.. with continual increase of jails, military, police, rehabs (Kolodny style)…etc that is precisly why Tobacco is still killing people (in reverse) thinking of tax revenue stream. If only…?
