From the Article:
CVS Pharmacy is once again in hot water regarding its handling and dispensing of controlled substances—this time being sued by an insurer and 18 states that claim the pharmacy chain collected hundreds of millions for invalid prescriptions that were diverted to the black market.
Don’t drug dealers normally go to jail ?
Do drug dealers normally get SUED… I thought that they normally got arrested ?

This is only another example of how pharmacists suspend their good judgement in order to meet the targets ( or “goals” as their are called). It appears that the allegations are similar to those of last year in Oklahoma.

What is felonious is the manner in which these companies treat the pharmacy staff. If only they could be prosecuted for that.
CVS was involved in the Epic Center of the Pill Mills in Florida my friend. Walgreen’s and CVS made a big name for themselves and Crime. This is a very outrageous Felonious Matter because thousands of people lost their lives. I really don’t think the word Manner is appropriate!
This is an extremely poorly written article. Every pharmacy software program including that of CVS requires the prescriber’s DEA number. Individual prescriptions are not assigned a DEA number, but that of the prescriber must be transmitted with each claim.
Ha ha Steve. This is a problem all pharmacists face every day in the US.The question should be why not so much in other countries.Steve rather spend your time to look for solutions .Insurance companies should work with the profession and not try to make a quick buck.
It’s another witch-hunt to garner a headline that will read “CVS pays $xxx million fine, admits no wrong-doing. Every pharmacy has DEA software, if no DEA rx will not process. So this is BS. Amazing that there seems to be no mention about the prescribers unless CVS filled millions of forged prescriptions. Stop the prescribers and you won’t have to worry about the pharmacists missing the missing or invalid DEA numbers anymore.
You are too judgmental Lamprx… This is about the pharmacists at CVS diverting millions of dollars to the Black Market which doesn’t mean black people… This is the Mafia at work and everybody is aware of that? Keep the prescriptions going and stop the nonsense sounds much better.
