Indiana AG files licensing complaints against pharmacy

The Indiana Board of Pharmacy received notice from a pharmacy supplier that it stopped filling orders from Hoosiers Prescription Shop. The board then looked deeper into the practices of the Terre Haute-based pharmacy. Zoeller’s office filed the complaints after reviewing the board’s findings.

Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller announced licensing complaints Thursday against the Terre Haute-based Hoosiers Prescription Shop and its owner for allegedly selling excessive amounts of oxycodone to out-of-state patients.

While it is not a violation to fill prescriptions for out-of-state patients or accept prescriptions from out-of-state physicians, Zoeller alleged that Patel failed to exercise appropriate professional judgment by filling a high number of prescriptions for controlled substances from out-of-state patients.

The “numbers” involved is that this RPH dispensed ~ 100 doses of a C-II’s PER DAY over a 7 month period… ONE PT EVERY THREE DAYS…. no proof that the Rxs were forged.. nor written for illegitimate purposes.. This volume is considered EXCESSIVE by the AG’s office…

This is the same AG’s office that backed the denial by INBOP’s request to allow it to cross reference the driver license numbers int the state’s PMP ( INSPECT) by the BMV… claiming that it was an invasion of privacy..  Just think.. we are talking about a PMP is chock full of HIPAA PHI.. and they are worried about privacy.. trying to figure out how many bogus/fake/forged driver license that had been accepted by the RPH’s in Indiana and entered into the PMP…

It is getting kind of hard to tell who your real enemies are !
