Isn’t it enough that they are trying their best to see that a pt/customer can’t leave the store with any money left in their pocket… now the chains have quotas for employees to get email addresses from pt/customers so that they can bombard them with emails about coming back in and spending more money… Just imagine what they could do with target marketing.. if they merger the pt/customer’s info from the Rx computer system and their other buying patterns from their “frequent buying club card”

Steve…this crap is getting pathetic! These damn corporations seem bent on pestering everybody. First, it is the pharmacists and the techs, who are trying to get the prescriptions filled. Corporate pesters them over this crap about getting peoples emails. After they get those emails, then they start pestering the customers. With all the crap that I have read about with pharmacists and techs and CVS, I don’t see how they have time to fill prescriptions. Here is what is happening: people are taking more medications…baby boomers are retiring and needing medications….pharmacies are busy places…and pharmacists and techs are trying their best to get those prescriptions filled for all these folks. But, corporate is hell bent on shooting themselves in the foot by giving the pharmacists and techs more an more crap to do that does not relate to the primary task of filling prescriptions. Then, we keep hearing that CVS is cutting payroll. More and more to do with less and less people to do it. These corporations are being run by ‘bean counters’ that are complete idiots. Looks like CVS is not just Big Evil but Big Stupid. I am wondering just how energetic all these CVS techs and pharmacists are at work? With all the crap they have today, I would expect morale to be in the toilet. How many of them are just looking at meeting the metrics and not giving a crap if they have prescriptions to fill? Wal-Mart must have hired one of those idiots from CVS because, this year, they have started down the ‘metric road’. That does not even mention them forcing pharmacy managers to paint a wall. They are having trouble keeping enough stock of drugs in their pharmacies because they have this 90 day/$10 generic list. Imagine the increase in stock needed to fill all these prescriptions for a 90 day supply? That is mail order type stuff. It boggles my mind why they ever came up with that stupid idea. If you give someone a 3 months supply, then they don’t have to come back to the pharmacy as much and you lose out on more otc sales. So, they are essentially shooting themselves in the foot. In my area, this 90 day supply of generics has actually altered the prescribing habits of physicians….to my surprise! Now, the docs write 90 days supply for everything. So, we get these prescriptions for name brand drugs for a 90 day supply. But, there is one thing you can be sure about, and that is that you cannot tell any of these idiots at these home offices anything! They know it all. They seem bent on driving pharmacy into the garbage bin. They have no sense of reason and no sense of logic. I am sure there are plenty of CVS pharmacists that can back me up on this statement.
