This past week has been – IMO – has been one of the worse for hypocrisy on the tube.
First it was the couple who were apparently “multi-millionaires” , living on a 1+ million dollar yacht and collecting MEDICAID BENEFITS for years. I heard one “talking head” say that with as large as the Medicaid program is.. that there is going to be a few per-cent of fraud and abuse.
Secondly, was the shooting on the military installation in Texas.. and the “talking heads” start talking about the number of mass shooting over recent years and how our society was going to deal with all of the people with mental illness.. and keeping them from harming others.. conclusion is that there is no way to isolate those with mental illness and/or successfully treat all those with mental illness.
Thirdly, one of the highest rated cable commentary programs.. the person who “sits behind the desk” , I consider one of the biggest opiophobes I have ever listened to. The discussion point was on criminals in our society and the conclusion was that there is going to be a certain per-cent of the population who will be criminals and there is no way to change that percentage.
Yet, these same group of “talking heads” never understand that there is a certain per-cent of the population that will abuse some substances.. and like the other sub-groups of our society that do things that do not meet up with what our society considers norms.
