If you ever wondered why the Rx dept staff is always asking you to set up your prescriptions up on “auto-refill” ?… It is because chain store pharmacy software keeps pushing the staff on getting it done. I have heard that some chain stores considers 50% of eligible Rx for auto refill is the minimum acceptable numbers.
If you have been set up for auto refills on your Rxs without your permission, some consider this insurance fraud on the part of the pharmacy. Since normally, your insurance company is sent a bill for your filled Rx that you did not authorize or request.
