Now there is a task force that want pharmacists to have more of a working relationship with Drs and per patient treatment plan. Another money making agenda and where would a pharmacists time come from. All the specializing for a single patient really needs to stop.
It is not right at all I know what goes on ,and you are right on it would shock the country .
What can I do to help? That is terrible and needs to be changed. Corporations greed is destroying our country.
The vast majority of the problems center around corporate/chain pharmacies.. One can file complaints with the state Board of Pharmacy but since most of the BOP’s are stacked with non-practicing corporate pharmacists .. it is unlikely that much will be done… most BOP’s have stated that they see no relationship between staffing/Rx volume and Rx errors. Many have stated that they don’t have the authority to tell a permit holder how to run their business. Independent pharmacies do not have all the expense of the corporation with supervisors, HQ and other related expenses and up-staff at a higher level.. providing better/safer customer service. Here is a link to help pts find a local independently owned pharmacy by zip code http://www.ncpanet.org/home/find-your-local-pharmacy
If the pt is on Medicare/Medicaid a complaint can be filed with 800-MEDICARE.
“most BOP’s have stated that they see no relationship between staffing/Rx volume and Rx errors”
How in God’s name can anyone say that with a straight face?!?! What is WRONG with those…oh, never mind. They’re corporate drones only looking at the bottom line. still…unreal.
