If you think that ACLU is fighting discrimination against large parts of our population – read this
https://www.aclu.org/news/civil-liberties/four-lawyers-four-projects-one-non-stop-year/
This email highlights the FOUR MAJOR CASES of the ACLU in 2019
boils down to transgender, LGBT, HIV rights, reproduction rights, voting rights for illegal immigrants , other illegal immigration rights.
and of course, in this emailing they are ASKING FOR DONATIONS/MONEY and here is interesting asterisk …
Donations to the ACLU are not tax-deductible.
another FOR PROFIT corporation ?
Take a guess where the discrimination of chronic pain pts is on the ACLU’s pecking order ?

I have always thought that the ACLU was a terrorist orginization !
I am no big fan of the ACLU, after they told me that women working in bars and restaurants who were not comfortable with customers, grabbing their behinds, should “just find another job.” That was decades before the Me too Movement.
Who could have predicted our country would be caging, innocent immigrant and migrant children, so that a few corporations could profit? At least the ACLU has stepped in, but then the lawsuits are going to be high profile. They were not too concerned about incarceration for profit at the Border, that led to this dystopian nightmare.
The ACLU will not represent pain patients, because they are misinformed and believe the current false narrative the media distorted on the orders of the pharma industry. Besides they are just too busy protecting children, and vulnerable migrants. It would have been less expensive to put every single immigrant family in a hotel, with room service, than to incarcerate them.
Same with the effects of the past decade of UK Tory government policies on disabled/chronically ill/poor/etc. people. The UN, among many others, has reported that “UK welfare reforms have led to “grave and systematic violations” of disabled people’s rights”. I wrote to the ACLU in desperation. Same response.
They are NOT for ALL American citizens. They are catering to only one group of people.
ACLU is a Big FAT Sham with paid lobbyist to push only their agendas . They just Screw everybody else!
But then again, we’ve known this for the past decade, as chronic pain patients have tried thousands of times to get help from them to protect they’re rights, only to be ignored.
Gee, kinda makes the disabled feel like an alone minority doesn’t it? I don’t think USA gives a crap about these patients.
ACLU in my opinion is another “bought” agency. I contacted them last year to advocate for CPP. There answer. They dont do that kind of work!! in advocate I meant filinf lawsuits against all the agencies, govt, etc violating basic rights ..Another joke agency!
I Actually called….the ACLU shortly after I was forcefully reduced in my particular pain medication, that I have used, the SAME medication without increase for 7 years. Prior to that I used the SAME medication for 14 years without increase of dosage, milligram wise and in January of 2017 I was reduced in 8 weeks to 80 percent less than I had been stable on for the prior 7 years ( with my second “pain management specialist” ) to meet the “maximum” dosage of 90 milligrams of “morphine equivalent”, daily. I have seen two “pain management specialists” in the last 25 years now. The ACLU was NOT interested in helping me…….period! I can NOT hold my physician responsible because I understand “how” this destruction of lives is taking place. Even though the CDC “guideline” has destroyed my business of over 35 years as a home builder, it just was not important to them. I expressed that this destruction of income, suffering needlessly, and patient abandonment was happening….nationwide. The SAME thing with the state medical board! I was actually “visited” by two “agents” to see for themselves “why” I was complaining so much! I am sure EVERYTHING I “say” on my telephone and EVERYTHING that I view or write on my PC ……is monitored even though these two “agents” stated that I was not….being monitored. yeah, right. This a true narrative but, I figure, I don’t have MUCH more to lose. The sad fact is my wife is also very sick with PTSD and fibromyalgia but, again it is simply irrelevant to the opioiphobs. I am sure that I am getting in worse “hot water” by telling the truth but, truth is truth!
“Take a guess where the discrimination of chronic pain pts is on the ACLU’s pecking order ?”
Not only is it not in their pecking order, they’re determinedly keeping it out of their PO. The @%&$#s are very sure they don’t want anything to do with us….ditto with at least 1 of the main state “civil rights protective” orgs here in Oregon, which said to several of us advocates, “We do not choose to get involved in that issue at this time.
Great fodder for conspiracy theories.
