Pharmacy tracking not slowing Tenn. meth production
Here we have a system (NPLEX) that .. just like all the PMP’s.. does not validate the driver’s license number against the state’s BMV database.. to see if it is valid.
Just Google “how to make a fake ID” and see how many pages show up with some entity offering to sell you all the necessary items to produce fake ID’s that will pass as being real.
Once a “driver’s license number” gets into the NPLEX system.. and as long as that some driver’s license does not attempt to purchase PSE too early.. the NPLEX is so user friendly.. that is auto-populates the screen… helps confirmation bias kick in…
So from this TN study.. the people who want to cook meth.. keep getting their PSE…the company that put this lame system together .. is getting their money.. and the bureaucrats get to put out another “feel good” process that they are doing something.
While Pharmacy/Pharmacist/staff gets one more worthless task that interferes with their primary job.. safely filling prescriptions and helping pts manage their health.
