Original review:
Atlanta Walgreen‘s Pharmacy made an error with my husband’s prescription and he died. We picked up the prescription on Friday and began taking it. My husband became ill over the weekend we noticed that he had been given the wrong dosage. I immediately contacted Walgreen‘s and was spoken to rudely and hung up on.

I contacted the Corporate office to file a complaint and the investigation results indicated that it was a human error. I have names, dates, and positions of personnel.

Walgreen‘s only offered a settlement of $5,000 for the worth of my husband. 2f9ad45

  1. People make mistakes. We have very little info on this matter. It’s heavily one sided. No idea what the error was, or it’s actual severity. For all we know, $5,000 is MORE than enough to cover damages and fees.

However, if I were working there, I’d sure as he’ll be apologizing and doing everything I can to make it right.

Steve: Let’s presume that this is all true.. $5000 is not enough to provide for the cost of a funeral.. if the person was employed.. there is all of a sudden the loss of a paycheck.. and if they were on Social Security.. there was the loss of one monthly check. In the legal system.. the term “make whole” is typically used when damages are awarded. IMO.. the offer does not even come close to that goal

  2. I cannot believe it! This is horrible for our profession. No offense to the meat section at the grocery store and the local fast food restaurants, but the profession of pharmacy is moving toward this rapidly. This is so sad. Let’s use out knowledge and start counseling our patients. Also, if you cannot speak English, take a few classes like I did.
