Is this like Diplomatic Immunity ?

It was reported in a USA TODAY article that 75% of the pharmacy boards have chain execs sitting on them. There have been various reporters ask some of these execs if this is not a conflict of interest?… Their typical reply is that they recuse themselves from any discussion decisions involving their company or one of their employees that come before the board.

On the surface, that sounds quite noble… but… could the reality be that the other chain execs on the same board… know good and well that if they go against their “brother chain” on this particular decision.. that there are other execs on most other state boards of pharmacy and if they make a “unbrotherly decision” in this state …then their chain may risk a similar action/reaction by another “brother chain” on another state board of pharmacy under same/similar circumstances.

Doesn’t this describe what nations do under diplomatic immunity?… no matter what the diplomat does.. what law they break… they are untouchable by the country they are in…

How do we get truly independent BOP’s? That understands healthcare, our profession and how it should operate. Since 66%+ of the community pharmacies are public held companies … listed on one of the stock exchanges… and all “the market” cares about is PROFITS… Most all of the insurance companies and PBM’s are for profit public companies.. We know what all of these for profit centric companies did to the stock market in the early 90’s and the real estate markets in the past few years.. is our healthcare system going to be their next victim?

It is one thing when all of these companies destroys life and retirement savings and destroys home values… but could the health, quality of life and even life itself of some people be at risk… because of what seems to be greed and the need for increasingly larger profits that cannot be quenched?
