CVS pharmacy in Spring Hill Florida is extremely disappointing
I’ve been a customer to CVS since they opened. Now, if you have scripts for pain medication, forget it. You will be living in pain ALWAYS and reason why “staff members ” PICK & CHOOSE WHO IS ALLOWED TO RECEIVE THEIR MEDICATION. TOTALLY UNFAIR. This is not my first time complaining about this subject. There is 1 woman that works in the pharmacy that makes it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT FOR ME. I’m a 50 year old female that cleans houses with 2 bulging discs in my back, 1 bulging disc in my neck area, nerve damage in 1 leg, no feeling or pins & needles in both hands. It doesn’t matter how bad off you are this woman Jennifer makes sure I can’t get my medications that my pain management doctor prescribes. TOTAL BULLSH*T. NOT FAIR TO STAND UP CITIZENS. They always claim they don’t have it in stock, the truck has not arrived or not enough was delivered to their store. Now as a faithful customer to CVS you would think they would accommodate me. I’ve been coming to CVS since they started in PA. Then moved to Florida & the treatment I receive from certain women working there SUCKS. There’s not a nicer way to put it. You would think since I only use them, they would want to accommodate me & fill my prescriptions. SHAME ON CVS. I NO LONGER USE CVS FOR SHOPPING AS I ONCE DID BECAUSE THEY DO NOT DESERVE MY HARD EARNED MONEY. The treatment is horrific! Finally was able to speak with pharmacist but to no avail, still can’t fill my pain medication because 3 people receive their scripts one week before me. Well since the corporation knows that Walgreens no longer fills these types of meds, they should be sending larger quantities to this CVS store to make sure that REGULAR CUSTOMERS are receiving superior treatment that is advertised. Your advertisements are a joke. Saddly, disappointed, aggrevated faithful customer Julie from spring hill Florida Store #3746

I’m a long term pain pt without insurance. I can only find 1 mom and pop to fill my meds. They won’t take discount cards on narcs so 1 month of my meds is 700.00. This on no income while I wait for disability. I’ve used walgreens for years but they refuse to fill for me. Very sad when a true honest pt feels like trash. That’s how the pharmacies make me feel

Look at this website for assistance in paying for your meds from the manufacturers…
I just put one of the employees of the company that I work for on to this.. he is a type I diabetic and was having trouble paying $90/bottle for insulin and is now going to get a 90 days supply for $ 10
let me know if it works out

This discrimination is absolutely not fair Julie. Pharmacist Steve, feel free to send Julie info to FFPCAN advocacy group. Maybe she and others that live in Florida would be interested in helping advocate with us at our next rally.
I really hope that plenty of FL pain patients and other pain orgs get on board with me to help us fight for our rights for pain care here. I’m trying to build as many to help as possible.
I know exactly how this woman feels. I have been in the same situation myself many times. We must complain to the state legislators and hopefully they will get Congress to stop the DEA from harming these innocent patients.
The best thing to in the mean time Is go visit your local rep and complain to him. Spring Hill rep is Richard Nugent. He has helped other patients in the past.
Steve, are we to understand that the true problem in filling opioid prescriptions is the 3 wholesalers that provide these meds to the pharmacy’s are rationing out the meds out of fear of the DEA’s “unknown ratio of opioid scripts compared to all other scripts”? What Julie is having to endure simply to get a prescription filled borders on criminal. What’s a pain patient to do? We’ve sent letters to our Congressmen, called State Attorney General….etc. I believe these patients need the help of their doctors, pharmacists, and clinicians to speak up…but how? I see this becoming a nation wide problem. What’s your ideas to solve this travesty?
Some have labeled the actions of the wholesalers as CRIMINAL..
IMO.. The wholesalers are all walking on very thin ice..
Who believes that the actions of the wholesalers is not causing/inflicting pain/withdrawal to a certain portion of the chronic pain community.
You hit someone else – inflict pain/injury… you can file criminal charges for assault and battery. If you continue to inflict pain/injury.. is that TORTURE ?
Is it patient abuse ?
Is there a violation of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) ?
Irregardless .. if person is injured.. where are the personal injury attorneys ? Where are the class action attorneys?
Where are the medical boards and pharmacy boards ?
Is denying a patient medically necessary prescribed medication.. practicing medicine or pharmacy without a license ?
What other disease state.. is someone outside of medicine/pharmacy allowed to interfere with that therapy ? Even insurance companies can only refuse to pay for a therapy.. if the person has the financial where for all to pay for it out of pocket.. they can get the therapy.
IMO.. our society “looks the other way” for other drugs that causes more death and injury and/or addictions.. think alcohol, nicotine ..
There are so many violations of human right issues here.. where do you begin? Are we – as a society – only concerned about human rights violations done by other countries to their own people ?
The three major wholesalers, collectively, have some very very very deep pockets ! Maybe it is time that those wholesalers become more fearful of the chronic pain community and the cost of litigation settlements than the fines imposed by the DEA…
