Is this what we should expect ?

State moves to suspend pharmacy license in fungal meningitis outbreak

On Sept 26th… NECC recalls all lots of  Sterile/preservative free injectable Methylprednisolone that it had compounded..

On Oct 24th.. the Attorney General of Indiana ASKED the Indiana Board of Pharmacy to suspended NECC’s Indiana mail order pharmacy license

Did the AG have to ASK the BOP… because after nearly a month.. the BOP had taken no action?

Per the article:

The board will consider the petition for suspension at its next meeting at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 5.

CONSIDER???? in Indiana we have had 43 people affected… including THREE DEATHS…. how many tomb stones does it take for the Indiana  BOP to get their asses in gear?

I would put money on… if there had been diverter/abused controlled drugs… they would have called an emergency meeting in hours/days and taken action.

Is this an example of the 51 BOP’s who are charged with protecting the health and safety of the citizens of the various states?

I FORGOT… here is what the Indiana BOP posted on their Facebook page Oct 5th

Given the recent meningitis outbreak tied to a compounding pharmacy in Massachusetts, the Indiana Board of Pharmacy reminds you that 856 IAC 1-30-9(c)(2) states that qualifying pharmacists shall “be responsible for adherence to all current

USP Standards related to sterile compounding, personnel cleansing and gowning…” The administrative rules on sterile pharmaceuticals can be found at 856 IAC 1-30, which are available in the law compilation on our website: http://www.in.gov/pla/2545.htm.
