Beckley Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a local pharmacy and took one person hostage.
According to Detective Morgan Bragg, a man robbed the CVS in Beckley at 1414 N. Eisenhower Drive about 1:15 p.m. on Sunday.
“A white male entered the store and approached a store employee that was stocking shelves, grabbed her, put a knife to her throat, and forced her to the back of the store to the pharmacy area,” Bragg said. “He demanded that the pharmacist open the safe and provide him with several controlled medications.
“After he obtained several different medications, he fled the store and was seen entering an awaiting vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle is described as a large, four-door, full-size sedan that is tan in color. It has tinted windows and is possibly a Chrysler or similar model.
“The suspect is described as a white male with a medium build,” Bragg added. “He’s in his late 30s to early 40s. He had a dark-colored mustache. He was wearing a blue plaid jacket with gray hood. He was wearing blue jeans and tennis shoes. He was also wearing a light-colored, camouflage hat.”
