#KMart Pharmacist told me to take my prescriptions somewhere else

I have been a customer of Kmart pharmacy for several years, but on this past Monday April 30,2018, I was informed by the on staff pharmacist that he was short on my prescription but would order on Tuesday, and could pick up on Wed. I called back on Tuesday to confirm it would be there on Wed, and the time I should come in. At that time a different pharmacist told me to that I should ask my Dr for a different strength or to go somewhere else because he was saving what he had for Drs that ordered from him. I asked him to please fill at least one more time giving me time to find another pharmacist due to the fact that every pharmacy says they are not taking new patients. He refused. On Wed I sent my friend in to food city, but he misunderstood and went to Kmart, the clerk checked and said come back in 30 mins while they filled it, but it never happened John, the manager pharmacist yelled (I was on the phone with my friend and heard) and said I am the manager I am refusing. I have never had a problem, in fact they always were very pleasant. This pharmacist violated my hibba rights, but saying my name my medication, and saying I needed to go else where. I was terrified of the fear of how I would feel nit being able to fill this, and humiliated. My question is what, if anything can I do? I would sincerely appreciate any help in guiding me on where to go to file a complaint. Thank you so much..

  1. I remember not too long ago when customer service was priority number one. When people’s money meant something. Not who get’s what drugs they have on hand. This is terrible treatment. No rights for the consumer whatsoever anymore let alone you have to fight for the pain meds. They don’t deserve your business anymore.I know Steve gave you good advise. Sorry this happened to you. It’s unacceptable.

  2. Someone needs,to explain HIPPA,to you. You do not understand what it does not mean.

  3. Our physicians have been threatened, our pharmacists have been threatened, and a patient has ZERO path to help ourselves. Is this actually the future for pain management patients? I would just as soon leave the effing planet now ( as some have done) as to drag the suffering out to further rediculous extremes that violate the ability to be treated for a medical necessity. Just what…..are pain management patients to do? It is looking more and more like a purge from society…..life itself. NO documentation of successful, beneficial, life sustaining ability to remain simply alive is being taken into account for the patient to survive the intolerable pain that we have .TOO radical thought from a 23 year pain management patient that has done MUCH better with sufficient opioid medication than with an insufficient or worse NO pain management medication? ANOTHER step towards being told what to do, what you may receive as far as very basic pain management? NO recourse for the patient simply comply or die, we, dot/gov simply do not care. NO CHOICE. IF our elect will not help the pain patient in the stated “opioid crisis”, we HAVE to vote them out, less it should turn violent with what strength we have left! The absolute senseless “policy” of the CDC rogue enforced by DEA IS killing patients or at the VERY least causing unneccessary worsened suffering and declining overall health. Can we see the similarity between late 1930’s Germany and current American “leadership”. JC, this is getting VERY serious and non pain management patients can see it or simply can not see the where “leadership” and totalitarianism is going. They will when the next step is taken to gain absolute control over ALL citizens. Sound radical? We better get radical or fail to help ourselves and then our families will fail also. The CDC states the “guideline” for opioid medication prescribing physicians is “voluntary” yet our doctors offices are being raided, losing their license to practice, and pain management patients are being told to comply with a “policy” or die,.We, dot/gove really don’t care! What is our “choice”, suffer for the rest of our lives or stop the pain…..the best way we can and suicide does NOT seem to bother ANY of our elected “policy” makers!
