Meth Use Statistics: DEA Reports Record Seizures, But Are More People Using Methamphetamine?
But the unprecedented figures don’t necessarily mean that meth use is on the rise in the U.S. Americans are using the synthetic drug at about the same pace in recent years, although there was a large increase from 2010 to 2011, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. In 2013, 595,000 Americans said they used meth in the past month, compared to 440,000 who used the drug in 2012. In 2011, there were 439,000 Americans who said they used meth in the last month, a steep increase from the 353,000 who said the same in 2010.
The number of new meth users within the last year is about on par with estimates from 2007 to 2012, according to the institute’s National Survey on Drug Use and Health. There were 144,000 new users of the synthetic drug in 2013, “which was similar to the estimates” in the previous five years, the survey

Seems like the wars we fight can never be ‘won’ You can never stamp out drug use or terrorism no matter how much $$, surveillance, training, etc you throw at them. Great job security for the war’s ‘soldiers’ though.
COPS AND ROBBERS OR COPS AS ROBBERS [?]
Well, our war on drugs isn’t making many friends abroad or doing any favors for the tourism industry. The Canadian Government has advised travelers to the US NOT to carry cash due to the rampant seizures of cash by US law enforcement w/out any evidence of criminal activity, let alone a charge or indictment.

How the scam works: [You may want to have an antiemetic handy]

Perhaps some of this money spent on the war on citizens, I mean war on drugs, could be used to solve REAL crimes, affecting REAL VICTIMS..
According to statistics {CLEARANCE RATES-2012] provided by law enforcement one has an 11.9% chance of seeing the thief who stole their car arrested (not even going to guess about the chance of recovering the vehicle).
Murder/Manslaughter? 62.5% chance of clearance
Robbery? .28.1%
Rape? 40%
How can these stats be acceptable while we waste $50 Billion in hard earned taxes [appropriations], billions more in seizures [robbery], Constitutional Liberties, and millions of man hours of training and ‘enforcement’ on victim less crimes?
Then we have the audacity to criticize other countries? No wonder so many around the world hate the US, We epitomize hippocricy and arrogantly judge others while saying do as I say not as I do.

Great propaganda for the tv babies though, gotta give ’em credit for that] this country has truly lost its way…………
If you’re DuPont, you get all the methylamine you want…
“DuPont Methylamines. Methylamines are used as raw materials to synthesize many diverse chemical intermediates used to improve or manufacture items that come into people’s lives each day. They are clear, colorless gases available as liquefied compressed gas or as aqueous solutions.”
It sounds so innocuous… Doesn’t sound like something Walter White would use, does it?
And as a user of Claritan-D (having to give up Benadryl-D, the one that actually worked better), I am more than inconvenienced… And when I tried to switch from Claritan-D to another brand name, it wasn’t approved, because it would put me over my monthly “limit”… so to switch, I would have to go without for something like 3 or 4 days before I could buy the other brand…
Achooooooooo!!
While a majority (80%) of it comes from south of the border, the government would still have everyone to believe its local meth labs that still produce the majority of product and that pseudoephedrine must be put on prescription to ‘protect the public’. Which is truly pointless because the Mexican cartels use methylamine and not pseudoephedrine. So our government would be inconveniencing law biding pseudoephedrine users and driving up healthcare costs for no reason.
” In 2013, 595,000 Americans said they used meth in the past month…”
Well, if Americans said so, it must be true. I just can’t believe that people actually tell the truth when answering questions about illegal drug use.
I live in the Meth capitol of the world. Over the past several years there has been a dramatic rise in Meth use here. This is anecdotal. But, it seems like the rise in use is not as dramatic as in the past. There is one thing for sure…Meth is a highly addicting and very destructive drug.
