The CDC posts all sorts of medical guidelines. None of which bears the weight of law. But it seems that only their most recent guide on opiate dosing is being considered by many that these opiate guidelines are in fact LAW.

You probably are aware of this already, but just in case you haven’t heard the CDC is giving a one hour online presentation today at 2 pm EST. , that you can listen to , or watch via web today , for training doctors “on the CDC guidelines.” In their slides for today they have disclosed that The University of Washington has been given a contract payment by the CDC. We know UW had a role along with PROP in drafting the CDC guidelines. Jane Ballantyne and Mark Sullivan will be presenting today, no mention of their role in PROP, all of which seems like conflict of interest to me.
I find it interesting that in the slides, they are now using 50 MME which is even lower than the CDC guidelines! If you can’t make the call, you can view the slides anytime, too see what’s being put out there. They are only allowing doctors to ask questions, also.

So it would appear that the CDC is contracting out a presentation for prescribers on these new CDC guidelines and the people that was contracted with are the same people/entities that are associated with PROP and other anti-opiate groups.
Could the “devil in the details” is that increased immunizations would cost Medicare/Medicaid/Insurance money while limiting opiates to chronic pain pts will save those same entities money.

State of Wisconsin just adopted them as law!!!!!!!!!!!!and took away my doctors right to be the authority of my care in using any opiates,,maryw
