“The moral test of a government is how it treats those who are at the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the aged; and those who are in the shadow of life, the sick and the needy, and the handicapped.” – Hubert Humphrey

“Your money or your life,” how true that statement is. Even when the medicine is affordable, often it is bad. My Dr.(endo) prescribed Armour Thyroid. This natural thyroid med, from swine used for years was over $170+ so Rite Aid substituted thyroid medication from Acella. That med has been recalled twice. THANKS to you Steve I knew this before I received a letter from Rite Aid, I had gone months taking this deficient med and wondering why I was feeling extra crappy. When people have multiple conditions and you feel bad the majority of the time, you need to trust someone for your care. Unfortunately, you need to be your own Dr, nurse and health advocate these days. I called my Dr and told him about my thyroid issue and he prescribed Levothyroxine, and within days I felt better. He is my family Dr and believes me. He also believes me about my pain issues and takes care of my pain. I worry as he is a year younger than me, 71 and will be retiring in the near future. There goes my pain control. People should not have to worry about the cost of meds, their potency and availability.
