Should we share the hell out of this?

I know that many of you are not happy in how the election turned out, but if you want to continue to put your personal political opinions over what is the best for the chronic pain community. You can stop reading right here ! Just go ahead and shoot yourself in the foot or HEAD!

There is a new sheriff in town and he is bringing along a lot of deputies that are claiming that they are making a change to how things are done.

Trump has admitted that some of the people recommended to him in his first term were not the appropriate people for the tasks they were given.  Perhaps many were covert members of “the swamp” that he was trying to drain.

I don’t think that Elon Musk,  Robert F. Kennedy Jr and whoever the new Attorney General will be of the previous SWAMP!

Musk claims he is going to focus on cutting costs – maybe he should look at all those 100 of millions of dollars being spent on Epidural Spinal Injection. That are not recommended by the FDA and the pharma that makes the corticosteroid most often used in ESIs. In reality those ESIs at best provide the pt some minor/temporary pain relief, but in the long run will cause more deterioration in the spine.

Those pain docs that are telling pts that they must be subjected to ESI to get some oral opioids, may be violating a federal law that is part of the Sherman Antitrust Act calling Tying Commerce https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tying_(commerce) and providing those ESIs that are not really medically necessity, some consider it insurance fraud and if Medicare/Medicaid are involved then it could be considered federal fraud.

I read where – on average – TWO DOZEN – veterans commit SUICIDE EVERY DAY, because the VA system is refusing to treat those veteran who have come home with painful “broken bodies” and the VA system is just electing to ignore their pain.

Kennedy is suppose to be focusing on improving our health.  Could working with our new Attorney General to get the DEA to focus on getting much of the ILLEGAL FENTANYL off our streets and causing all those poisoning/ODs.

IMO, the only thing that may stand in the way of the community making some progress is to DO NOTHING! That will guarantee that the community will GET NOTHING! There is nearly 11,000 post on my blogs and I have pulled some that I consider very appropriate to work with the new administration.

  2. THANK YOU Pharmacist Steve.
I had already spoken to a friend with some connections in the GOP before the election. I created a package of items from Red Lawhern, and spoke with my daughter’s pain doc this week. The goal is to reach Vance (with legitimate reasons to be anti-opioid) or some of his senior advisors, and RFK or some of his senior advisors to clarify both the plight of as many as 10 million chronic pain patients (including veterans) and the abuses committed in the last decade by the DEA, DOJ, CDC, etc.

We also spoke with my daughter’s pain management physician this week and he had a recommendation from himself and one of his (as he described her: very smart) patients. He gets limited pushback about terminal cancer patients, but says, for all of his non-cancer patients, having some kind of an official diagnosis of chronic, irreversible, intractable pain would make it much easier for pain docs to clarify ‘within the system’ who those patients are. He said that currently it’s all case-by-case which is insane and mind-bogglingly time consuming, as well as putting doctors who (according to him) are well able to identify ‘problem’ patients from the legitimate chronic long-term compliant pain patients at constant legal risk.

His ‘smart’ patient said a system similar to the TSA pre-screening service that pre-screens and identifies such patients at the national level would make traveling, emergencies and changing physicians much more streamlined.
Loaded and ready to roll! Hoping many others join this effort.

    • Your comment jmo,,is exactly why i think, every single person who’s pick up a phone, wrote a letter, met w/a politicians,,a blog,a newspaper online etc, even though it didn’t change things that day,,we are the sum of our parts,,it put their ear to the issue and the more people who pick up that phone, write a simple email to a politician etc,,,will be why it changes back to normal,,,no 1 person will be responsible for getting our humane care,,it will be from the sum of our parts,,and addiction psychiatry will be forced to stop using medical torture upon us as their new commodity,,Anyone else notice,,,no-more addiction commercials eh???They were advertising for their business,,addiction,,but sacklers
never did a single commercial for opiates,,hmmmmm,,,a little off topic oh well,,,jmo,,maryw

  3. Do you really believe RFKJ knows our plight? …ESI’s?
Knows limits on pain care cause demand for street drug pain care? Do you believe we can contact him or his ppl? I love an optimist, & hope it follows…

    • Elon Mush wants to trim 2 trillion out of our budget. We are going to need the new AG, Musk & Kennedy to work in unison toward a shared goal. The have the Senate and they
may get the House. If that happens, Trump can issue a tsunami of EOs and no one is going to do anything unless there are a number of covert RINOs in Congress
This “new sheriff” is not one of the old bureaucrats from “the swamp”

    • Mr.Hughes I have emailed, called ,’the kennedy human rights organization,”’ a few times already,,but to your point,,only got a confirmations of ,”message received,”,,but also, who better then to tell him the truth about what happen’d and is happening to us,,,,then us,,gotta try,,Mr.Kennedy does have a human rights organization out of NewYork of all the bad places,,but anyone can contact it,,,,Maryw
