Every week I see a few new Face Book pages focused on chronic pain and at least one new petition to the White House, Congress are some bureaucratic entity. While all these groups are fighting for the same final goal… no one seems to understand that thousands of voice – not in concert – just sounds like a ROAR of NOISE.
All those dozens of petitions… and most get a few thousand signatures at most.. the only one that I know about that got over 100,000 signatures was to recall the head of the DEA.. and that was months ago.. and to the best of my knowledge the DEA has the same leader.
Just look at the many groups that should be advocating/protecting those in the chronic pain community.
AARP… they are suppose to look out for those 50+… estimated guess is that at least HALF of the reported 100-116 million chronic pain pts… would fall into the 50+ age range.. and where is the AARP speaking up for their members and/or age group they are suppose to be supporting ?
ACLU… is suppose to defend civil liberties… other than taking the AG and Medical Licensing board of Indiana to court over emergency rule of mandatory urine testing for all pts taking opiates. Turned out that was a violation of the 4th Amendment
ADA… the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ, plus there are many states that have their own ADA laws. Nearly all of the activity I have seen enforcing this law has been dealing with those people who are HIV+, ethnic groups and those in the LGBT community.
The legal/attorney community, how many times a day do you see an attorney advertising on TV, wanting to sue someone for causing a accident and causing someone else pain and suffering. Yet, I have not seen the first incident of an attorney suing a healthcare professional INTENTIONALLY causing a pt pain and suffering because they reduced the pt’s dose and/or refused to fill their prescriptions.
40+ Governors to sign Massachusetts-inspired opioid prescription compact
Included in that number is Trump’s VP pick Gov Pence.. but don’t that let you decide that Hillary is the one… she has endorsed the one cent per mg opiate tax proposed by WV’s Senator. Everyone at the Federal/State level seems hell-bent on making the CDC opiate guidelines the “law of the land”.
If there are 100-116 million chronic pain pts out there, IMO.. they need to get their act together. The chronic pain community doesn’t need more leaders/advocates than they have those willing to follow.
Maybe it is time for a new “silent majority”… a new T.E.A. party (Tortured Enough Already) and the first order of business is to get organized and vote all the incumbents out of office with this fall’s election.
If the 99% that normally get reelected… get reelected.. the path to reduced opiates for all chronic pain pts has been put in place… another two years allowing that plan to be implemented may make it too long to reverse changes already in place.
They don’t feel your pain… throwing them out of office and letting them find a “real job” will be the first step in sharing your pain. Their replacements will be so paranoid that they will start listing to their constituents… because if their constituents cleaned house once… it can be done again..
You can register to vote by mail and vote by mail… The only valid reason you can have for not voting is if you can’t make it to your mailbox or you don’t have the money to buy two postage stamps.
Vote as if your life depended upon it
The only other alternative is to start suing to get your life back, I believe that voting will be the fastest and least expensive path to take.

I know the gov’t is not going to help at this point; but the more media attention we can get, the better! That is why I was talking about bombarding alt. news sources like the young turks & vice as they are the biggest & could really help bring awareness to our plight. That is great that there was 27,000 letters written to the UN & is amazing considering that less than 5000 cpp left comments for the CDC guidelines. Now if we could get 27,000 to send pleas to the young turks, vice, etc.. we could have a good chance of them doing our story!!
I disagree,,I believe ,”we” have written plenty of letters,,again 27,000 letter so-far tht we know of,,I believe our government is WILLFULLY IGNORING US,,,,We sent a 3 page letter,,and a 2 inch thick package of info of articles ,comment ,letter etc from chronic pain people to the United Nations,,they responded w/in 7 month,,Via adding chronic pain to the emergency Agenda last April ,,soo if the U.N can respond,,,our Government knowsfull well what their doing is cruel, inhumane torture and genocide..Hell the U.N chewed their ass’s out in April for abuseing chronic pain people,,soo our government know exactly what their doing!!!!This why they won’t stop till there stopped..Great point jmo on that shrink making guidelines,,,ITS ABOUT MONEY/CONTROL!,,and they want the medically ill dead..See your theory is based upon your trust that our government will do something if enough people yell loud enough,,guess what,,your 1st mistake is trusting our government,,our government has no moral compass anymore,,its about lawyers, lobbyist, monery, and buying people off,,,its a corporation now a days,,NOT,,”WE THE PEOPLE,”,,WITH OUR MONEY TO BOOT!!..TRUST NOTHING FROM OR ABOUT OUR GOVERNMENT ANYMORE,, that why I believe they will not stop killing us literally,,,until they r stopped!!!
Steve, I agree w/ you completely & even though I do have a facebook page called criminally inpain; I work hard to spread awareness & have begged people to help stop our SUFFERING of SILENCE (would LOVE to start a #sos but I don’t know how) I have also been writing to everyone you have sug. (Thanks for all the info on who & where to write!) plus news stations & papers. I have also been trying to get others to bombard social media news outlets like The young turks, vice, secular talk, RT, the lip, etc.. with our pleas to help our voices to be heard & while I have yet to hear anything back; I will NEVER give up trying!! Sadly, unless many more also send their pleas to them, it will never happen & it is this reason that I get so angry at other pain patients.
We can’t expect others to help us, if we won’t help ourselves & if there are really a 100million+ that suffer chronic pain; where are they? Look, I understand the fear of speaking up very well as I too, am scared. However, we MUST push through that fear, otherwise things are going to get FAR WORSE!! To everyone that reads this, I beg you to help stop our suffering of silence!!!
Thanks Steve, Some great ideas here…!!
Has there been a list created regarding “pain voting”, that u know of?
Meanwhile back at the ranch people are dieing, suffering cruel inhumane physical pain,,waiting 2 more years for any legist;ation to be brough infront of congress w/,”new” senators,ie politician because we voted the old one out, rightfully soo,,,,,its much more time consuming and no guarantee they will change anything,,plus u have convince 50 different people OVER TIME,, to fix this mess,,,verses,,A LAW,,A 12 PERSON JURY,AND A JUDGE,,,TO REINFORCE LAWS ALREADY ON THE BOOKS,, and putting the ,”bums,”’ in jail so they can never ever do this again,,,will be justice for all those who have died WAITING to maybe vote the bums out..We have more then enough evidence against our government for willfull torture, genocide and practicing medicine w/out a liscence,,Last time I check,,willfull killing of someone was murder,,carrying live long prison time or death,,,which is exactly what these ,”bums,”” deserve,,,If the chronic physical pain community saw Klondyn in jail,,not to mention what it would do to anyone else thinking of willfully killing us,,Hey wth have they done to our innocent doctors??!!!!,,except,,Klondyn, the government IS NOT INNOCENT,, put the ,”bums,” in jail,,,not free to continue their crimes against the medically ill,,,maryw
Once again Steve you’re right. Every day I either see on pain group pages or in my email box another petition that says the same exact thing as the previous 5 said. Too many of us aren’t understanding that these petitions aren’t going anywhere or going to do anything for our fight. Those petitions that do get a sufficient amount of signatures are ignored by the so called powers that be. Obviously this government is sending us the plain and simple answers that they could care less about our pain and the only way we can make a difference is to send all these bureaucrats the message that we refuse to bend over for this screwing. VOTE THEM ALL OUT!!!!!
Well Trump just picked a politician from Indiana,,that just sign anti -pain management bills all over the place,,and Hilary will also kill us,,Sooo,,jmo,,,until it is law once again,,that torture and genocide are against the law..That practicing medicine w/out a liscence is against the law again,,,,and that forced endurement of physical pain is against the law,,,sadly,,I don’t think the voting booth will do it all…only a law will and persecution in a court of law against the United States Government,,,all of them,,cdc, hhs,,dea, etc,,,and witness by thee American people,,the genocide and torture these agencys have willfull committed,,,I disagree our votes will change anything now a days,,toooo much damage has been done,,jmo,,,only a lawsuit will put in place laws so this never ever happens again,,and send thee psychopaths to jail for a very long time..I would love to see Klondyn in a jail cell,,along w/1/2 the dea,,,in jail,,,,,that would be a dream come true for a lot of people ,,justice would be done,,,,finally,,,,maryw
This link, , to an article in Reuters, describes an amazing shakedown plot that gouged $600 million out of the Google company, over the operation of one or more Canadian firms that filled US prescriptions online and shipped the meds via FedEx and UPS. Two years ago, FedEx Corporation were indicted in the scheme, even though DEA agents were supervising the scheme and instructing FedEx how to ship the drugs that were being shipped here illegally. Recently the case went to trial in San Francisco federal court, and four days into the proceedings, DEA mysteriously dropped the charges. FedEx’s lawyer considers this to be unethical conduct for a lawyer…if the lawyer knows his case has no merit, it’s his duty not top bring the meritless case…and apparently an internal investigation is underway at Justice, into just how this happened.
If Google and FedEx were on the hook for $1 billion, just for delivering advertising and merchandise for an illegal business that sold pills online, how much money did the illegal business get from selling those pills? More importantly, why weren’t Canadian authorities asked to prosecute this illegal business operating within their boundaries? Did any US politicians launder money for this illegal business, through their campaign committees?
If the pill distribution business was illegal, were the pills diverted from legal channels or were they manufactured outside of legal channels?
DEA seems quite aware that pills are being made in Mexico, using ingredients imported from China, and that pills containing Fentanyl, made in Mexico, are coming into the US somehow.
Meanwhile, every person who ever took delivery of any of these pills, is probably named on shipping records. PROP and similar groups, who obtain those FedEx shipping records, have the power to blackmail those customers into enrolling in a “drug addiction treatment” program.
This is how people are scared into silence.
This whole so called epidemic was started on purpose & agenda driven! The DEA was also very aware of all the pill mills, yet allowed them to continue dealing drugs for 10 YEARS! Think about these questions:
1. Why did they wait so long to intervene?
2. Why were the areas that had the largest number of abuse & OD’s, also the poorest parts of the country?
3. Why did the big crack down on opioids only come right after we gained control of the Afghanistan poppy fields?
4. Why is a psychiatrist who happens to be the head of the largest rehab network, being allowed to make rules & guidelines for medications that were made for & used to treat illnesses/conditions that he has no clue about or experience with?
This is like allowing a dentist to make guidelines for the use of heart meds. & how a cardiologist can treat their patients, just because there is a small risk of developing heart disease from bacteria on the teeth!
