Some customers will bitch on just about anything !

cvs-pharmacy This showed  up on another Pharmacist’s blog http://www.jimplagakis.com/?p=7021

It would appear that with CVS’ policies is that their policies are whatever the customer wants their policy to be.. even if the policy that offends one person.. when it is changed … could offend many more than the first person that complained.

Of course, I am sure that all of these -so called – adjustments to policies are never made with much fanfare..to keep from offending more customers because of the changes.

The phrase “the customer is always right” was developed in a period of time when the customer complained… their complaint was probably based on a valid concern.

Walgreens is moving to the other side of the pond.. and taking all of their US tax revenue with them.. The chains – collectively – have about 70% of the pharmacy outlets.. They are cutting deals with insurance companies so that you have no choice but to have your prescriptions filled with them.

Eventually your choice as to where you have your prescriptions filled will be much like a monolith. What the differences are between Rx depts … will be so small that your choice will be really NO CHOICE !

Yes, those days of the patient always being right are long gone. When I started in pharmacy, 40 years ago, if a customer complained, you could bet they had a legitimate complaint. I will say that 95% of the time the patient was right. But, today, it is the reverse. If a patient complains, 95% of the time they are wrong or just don’t know what the hell they are talking about. Times have changed and peoples behavior has changed.

  2. I am a bit skeptical about the company response. We have pharmacists and techs in our district (both Muslim and Jewish) who wear head coverings. Many observe their Holy Days and Sabbaths. They may wear the Star of David or a cross or other religious symbols. Some are Hindu or Buddhist. I am sure we have our share of atheists, too. Perhaps our community is more open minded. I have never heard even a peep of a customer complaint. I am surprised that CVS would risk the bad publicity.

  3. @MarieC In my hometown, which is considered a moderate size city of 70,000 people, we have TWO independents left in town. One NO LONGER sells CII substances or at least any oxycodone due to hassels and being robbed one too many times. The other is a custom compounding pharmacy which took over for one that was closed due to Medicare fraud and I don’t know if he also full service. Everyone else is a chain of some sort. and one is attached to a major university med school which is estabilishing a network across the state (but currently only one pharmacy in town) We used to have 6-7 independents in and around this town 10-20 years ago.

  4. These people that get offended by religious things like a TIE with
a few CROSSES on it saying it offends them ,,. all they have to do is look away.
I cant believe some cold person made a complaint. What a miserable person this must be, getting offended over a tie wanting everyone around them to be miserable just like them. They have no life and no beliefs and their miserable because of it ,wanting everyone around them to be miserable just like them, they look for things to complain about. I know people just like this against other peoples views on religion and the upper management of CVS made this guy stop wearing these ties.

We’ve lost our way here in America, we cant do anything to offend people with no religious beliefs because it may offend them. Wanting to take the words UNDER GOD out of the Pledge of Allegiance ,what has this country come to.

Why don’t everyone that gets offended by the word GOD burn all your money because it has IN GOD WE TRUST on it, yea its a different story now isn’t it.
I have the freedom of speech ,so kiss spot, you bunch of heartless thugs.

  5. Do away with the big chains……stick with you small town pharmacies. You’ll get treated much better and probably get better prices… Keep your local pharmacy in business, we are the best….

  6. You forget that walgreens is the worst for.discriminating though. They refuse to fill paon meds so i doubt that will happen.
