It would seem that the CVS Union Pharmacist ratified a new contract .. July 15,2012…
I am not in the union… but.. isn’t a union contact presented to the rank & file after the union and the employer have come to an agreement ?
Word on the street is that CVS has yet to SIGN THE CONTACT… This is only a 2.5 yr contract… so nearly 20% of the term of the contract has come and gone – without CVS signing .. something that it would appear that they had agreed to. Why the procrastination ??..
Here is a copy of the contract that showed up in my email inbox… CVS Contract
Of particular interest is this statement The Company stated that in order to increase the wages of the current pharmacists, they would have to adjust the wages for newly licensed pharmacists hired after March 31, 2013.
Are they waiting for the current union members to go on strike – for CVS failing to sign the contract -so that they can replace them with young in debt newly licensed RPH’s.. at a lower wage ?
BTW.. word on the street is that … all of the union shop stewards have been told that they are not to talk to any RPH or go into any store… until told otherwise ..
TO ME… things just don’t make any sense… is something afoot ?

That contract looks like a piece of garbage! If that is the best the union can do, then who needs them? There are a lot more issues than salary and breaks, and they never touched on those other issues.
To save money, they will also get rid of your Techs and clerks. CVS is really the gulag of pharmacy work environments.
