“The moral test of a government is how it treats those who are at the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the aged; and those who are in the shadow of life, the sick and the needy, and the handicapped.” – Hubert Humphrey

I like Bill & agree w/ him on many things, but his comment shows the same biased ignorance of many that have been misinformed!
I’m a big supporter of legalizing pot; however I can’t understand why there are so many pro pot activists that constantly bash opioids!
While I agree that by making pot an option for chronic pain would cut down the need for opioids quite a bit, I also know that there are still many that would remain on opioids.
Just like any other chronic illness, there is NOTHING funny about suffering from chronic pain or addiction!! ALL meds. have side effects that can be very serious & OIC can be an extremely painful nightmare that is very common & very serious regardless of why opioids are taken!!
Bill should remember that he is very lucky in that he uses pot for pleasure & not because he is trapped in a nightmare of pain; but he is now 60 & has no idea of what is coming as there may soon come a time when he may need opioids in addition to or instead of pot!
