Here is a segment from 60 MINUTES (CBS) from 12/02/2012… it is about a hospital system (HMS) and the “metrics” that were pushed down the throats of physicians and other upper level staff members.. and these metrics were developed by non-medically trained execs… sound familiar ?

    The big question is how widespread is this type fraud? Is it confined to HMA, or is it is widespread in hospitals all across the country? As we can see from the 60 Minutes program, the docs have become corporate employees just like us and they are facing similar metrics.
