Michigan to drug test welfare recipients?
Florida tried this and it was found unconstitutional…. the ACLU is suing Indiana’s AG over mandatory urine testing for chronic pain pts.
What Sharpton didn’t mention was that this “war on drugs” started with the Harrison Narcotic Act 1914 passed by a Democrat controlled Congress and President Woodrow Wilson (D) signed it into law.. this law was based on racism, bigotry and protecting women from themselves. Of course, Bureaucrats had not given women the right to vote for another EIGHT YEARS… and President Wilson was against giving women the right to vote.

It was ruled unconstitutional in Florida for the government to require welfare, food stamp, and medicaid recipients to be urine tested each month for them to receive entitlements. Also, they found out the the governor was requiring the testing to be done at a clinic where he transferred ownership over to his wife. It was a state-wide clinic. Had nothing to do with pain patients, unfortunately. It has also been proven that urine tests have nothing to do with compliance regarding abuse of pain meds or not, but then who would make money if they stopped???
I so wanted them to implement this is in florida, then maybe the people who needed help cpuldnhave gotten it instead of giving tons of money to addicts who sold, their foodstamps like my ex and his friends, and family.
What’s good for the goose (welfare recipients) is good for the gander (politicians).
It is unconstitutional for the bureaucrats to mandate testing.. doc’s can have their own office policies.. The 4th Amendment is suppose to protect us from the government.
When did it become unconstitutional in Florida? My pain mgmt Dr requires a urine test every 8 weeks? Just had to take one 2 weeks ago?
It was found unconstitutional in Florida???when??i was gettinh urine screened every 28-30 days in florida for over 2 years straight up until this last august. And again here in wisconsin even though i never did anything wrong. When did something happen???
There is also no evidence that drug testing pain patients makes any difference in outcomes or compliance.
