In watching this movie.. it is like in 1970 when The Controlled Substance Act was enacted and the war on drugs was officially declared… on a problem that had had very little attention/maintenance for 56 yrs..
But that did not stop the FEDS from moving forward building the war on drugs on a fairly shaky foundation..
In the following 45 yrs.. the FEDS and state legislatures have poured 1.5 TRILLION trying to fix this poorly designed/maintained process, and while we continue to “throw” 51 billion/yr into this process and Pres Obama just announced that he wants another 1.1 billion for the next fiscal year. Business can fail, airplanes can crash and boats can sink.. but anything that the bureaucracy puts together… no matter if it totally misses its goals… they keep funding the failing processes ..

We should tell them that WE REFUSE TO PAY FOR THIS DRIG WAR ANY LONGER!
AFTER ALL TAX PAYERS ARE WHO FOOT BILL FOR THIS STUPID WAR THAT WILL NEVER BE WON.
What has to happen, I think, is for these social networks of pain patients, to pick a pain patient to be named as a write-in candidate for every office that has some say in the Drug War. Then offer the other candidates a stark choice: Learn about this issue that’s Issue Number One for 100 million voters with pain, or face one of us as a write-in candidate on the ballot.
Not all politicians are equally slimy. Some would accept a challenge like that and learn from it. The impact of such a move, would instantly displace Right To Life as the 900-pound gorilla of US politics…if people in pain don’t have a right to life, who does?
Love that idea. Now how to implement it?
