After all these years as a Pharmacist, I always had the understanding that the BOP’s primary charge was to protect public health and safety… how nieve of me… here is a posting from the RI BOP’s look for board members…
And here is a description of what the BOP does
The board establishes standards for training and conduct, reviews license applications and investigates and disciplines cases of professional misconduct.
Unless “professional misconduct” covers protecting the public’s health and safety ??? Otherwise, we can see that drug diversion and other unprofessional misconduct – like mis-filling a Rx… the public is on their own.. when it comes to really being protected for all the “intangible things” that can cause harm to a patient…
