When good customer service counts….

http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2013/03/16/9-retailers-worst-customer-service/1991519/

These are the nine retailers with the worst customer service.

9. Walgreen — health and personal care
8. TJX Companies — specialty retail
7. The Gap — specialty retail
6. Supervalu — supermarkets
5. Sears — department and discount stores
4. CVS Caremark — health and personal care stores
3. Safeway — supermarkets
2. Netflix — e-commerce
1. Walmart — department and discount stores, supermarkets

What I find interesting.. is that SIX of the NINE companies are directly or indirectly involved in the pharmacy/prescription business …

Maybe all the “metrics” that they are measuring… their typical customer/pt… couldn’t give a crap about…

What I also find amazing is America’s and maybe the world’s largest business ( Walmart) is NUMBER ONE on the list..  Does this mean that the average customer will accept little/none/crappy customer service to get a perceived “low price”.  Maybe instead of “matching” all of their competitors advertized prices… they could do better trying to emulate their competitor’s  better customer’s service policies?

Independent pharmacies are losing out to these guys… when 90%+ of all prescriptions are paid for by a drug card and the patient pays the same no matter where they shop.. As a society… have we been conditioned to accept poor/lousy customer service as  “the norm”  or the best we can expect ?
