CVS- Danger at the Drugstore

As a longtime pharmacist for the company I have some great insight for the many consumers who have rightfully complained about CVS. In the past 5 years CVS has undergone significant change in management practices. With budget cuts and an ever increasing workload (yes we are forced to meet customer call quotas and automatic refill quotas), your safety is at risk!. You can see for yourself when you stand in line how the employees are scrambling around, pulling their hair out and having no idea where your prescription is’.

The prescription error rate is climbing higher than ever for the company some of these errors recently have been quite serious like the errors in New Jersey where a CVS repeatedly gave out chemo drugs to children rather than chew-able fluoride tablets;. Most injuries that result from medication errors are settled out of court and you will never hear about them because of non disclosure agreements?. The company is much more focused on forcing pharmacy employees to call you 5 times per week to refill your nose spray under threat of termination than having staff follow safety guidelines,. Also take into consideration that pharmacists for CVS typically work 12-14 hour shifts with no lunch break and rare bathroom breaks?.

Luckily you have a choice as a consumer go to a lower volume pharmacy, non corporate are usually the best!. Or better yet, Contact your states department of consumer protection or board of pharmacy and demand something be done about unsafe working conditions for CVS pharmacy employees:. As for myself I have given my 2 weeks notice and have 2 shifts left with the company, I refuse to put the customers I enjoy seeing in danger and delivering poor service due to deplorable working conditions. 30644b8

  1. Just tell me when we are all going to go on strike!

    • IMO- we are past a strike doing any good… class action law suit will hurt them financially without doing harm to our job base and the patients that we serve… document.. document..document.. send concerns to HR/CCO as well as management
